Ufford Online

Ufford is a very small village between Stamford and Peterborough. It is within the Peterborough Unitary Authority.

Many of the older buildings were built from Lincolnshire limestone and roofed with collyweston stone giving the village its' Cotswold look and feel. Much of the village is overlooked by St Andrews Church which sits on the edge of an escarpment. Behind the escarpment was a broad area of heathland, parts of which still remain. Included in this heath is Swaddywell pit celebrated by John Clare.

Neighbouring villages include Bainton, Ashton, Barnack and Marholm. Originally a small farming village, Ufford has evolved over the years and now has about 100 homes,  one active farm and a pub. Residents commute, work from home or are retired.

This site has the potential to allow residents and village organisations to participate in adding information to the site. More importantly it includes a very secure forum to allow residents who have registered to use the site to comment on village and local matters.
