Buckingham are being kept busy with the rise in break in to vehicles in
rural areas across the policing area and including well known natural
beauty spots as well. In each case cars have been left with items of
value on display including sat navs, mobile phones, laptops and loose
change and bags and coats. Please ensure you pass onto your scheme
members the clear message that NOTHING should be left on display when
locking and securing your vehicle. The safest place to leave items if not
removing them from the car is the boot - but please check first that no one
is hanging around and taking an interest in what you are doing!! - if your
glovebox is empty leave it open and if you see anyone suspicious hanging
around in a car park or your street - dont delay - ring the police to
report it with as good a description you can get of the person and any
vehicle they may be using.
Metal Theft: we are still seeing lead being stolen so keep your eyes out -
to remove lead is both a complex and heavy process - transport will be used
and it is not a one man job. Keep an eye on churches, schools and any
listed buildings in your area, when out and about walking or driving past
take time to check for any activity out of the ordinary - again
descriptions and vehicle details are essential - dont put yourself at risk,
record what you can then ring the police.
Neighbourhood Panel Meeting: This is your opportunity to shape the
priorities set by your local policing team. The next rural neighbourhood
open panel is to be held on:
