Ufford Neigbourhood Watch Church Lead Theft - Waternewton

Large quantity of lead have been stolen from St Remigius Church at Waternewton - 5 sheets of lead were removed approx 5' x 6' in size.

The theft occurred overnight 14th August and a vehicle would have had to been involved.

Ufford Neighbourhood Watch Bainton and Barnack Burglaries

Overnight 12th August cash was stolen from a property in Main Street in Barnack - thieves entered via a rear window

Looking at incidents over past week I have noticed an attempted burglary that occurred during the day on 8th August at a property in Barnack Road in Bainton. Here thieves attempted to force entry using spade left in garden to a ground floor window.

NHW Alert - Rural Churches - Awareness About Lead Theft

Lincolnshire Police have launched an initiative last week asking local communities to help prevent the ongoing problem of lead being stolen from church roofs. Since January this year around 50 Lincolnshire churches have been targeted - some of our rural villages are next to or within a very short drive of the Lincolnshire border so I believe this message is also very relevant for our rural Peterborough churches.
